24-Hour Senior Care Services
Care Remedy Inc offers comprehensive in-home care services to elderly individuals needing assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and medication reminders on a 24/7 basis.
24-Hour Senior Care Services
As our loved ones age, their needs can become more complex, requiring more attention and care than what can be provided during regular daytime hours. This is where 24-hour senior care services come into play, offering round-the-clock support to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of seniors. Below we explain the benefits of 24-hour senior care and how it can be a game-changer for families with elderly members.
How much does 24 hour home care cost?
Around the clock care is $1,080 a day. Overnight only is $540 per 12 hour night, and daytime visits are $45 an hour, booked from 1 to 8 hours a day. No minimum contract and no assessment fee. See what 24 hour care costs per month.
Can your aides give medication?
Our aides are trained, background checked and insured, but they are not nurses and do not administer medication. They can give reminders, be present while your loved one takes their own medication, and call for help if something goes wrong. Nursing is a separate service.
How do I know the aide showed up?
Every visit is logged in MyCase, our care coordination platform, so families can see when each aide arrived and left.

What is 24-Hour Senior Care?
24 hour senior care at home in Massachusetts
24 hour care means two home health aides rotate through the day so one is always awake. It is the alternative to a nursing home for a person who needs eyes on them around the clock but still wants to live at home. Care Remedy covers Greater Boston, the South Shore and Western Massachusetts.
How much does 24 hour care cost?
$1,080 a day. That is two aides on 12 hour shifts, both trained, background checked and insured. No minimum contract, no assessment fee. For comparison, a shared room in a Massachusetts nursing home runs about $14,000 to $18,000 a month. 24 hour home care runs about $32,400 a month, but keeps the person in their own home.
When does a family actually need 24 hour care?
After a hospital discharge when the person is a fall risk. For late stage dementia with wandering or sundowning. For end of life care at home with hospice. For a period of a few weeks after a surgery when the family cannot cover nights. Many families start with 24 hour care for two weeks and then step down to day shifts plus overnight.
Live-in vs 24 hour care, what is the difference?
Live-in means one aide stays overnight and sleeps part of the shift. 24 hour means two aides rotate and nobody sleeps on duty. Massachusetts labor law favors the 24 hour model for anyone who needs attention during the night. If the person sleeps through, overnight care at $540 for 12 hours is usually what fits.
What does the aide actually do over 24 hours?
Help with bathing, dressing, toileting, meals, medication reminders, transfers, light housekeeping, laundry and companionship. Keep the person safe at night. Watch for falls, chest pain, confusion, skin breakdown, and call the family or 911 when something is wrong. Log every visit in MyCase so the family can check in from anywhere.
Can MassHealth, Medicare or long term care insurance pay for 24 hour care?
Original Medicare does not pay for 24 hour home care. MassHealth may cover PCA hours up to a cap set in the service agreement; our PCM agency helps members enroll and manage those hours. Long term care insurance usually reimburses 24 hour care and we provide itemized invoices.
Is 24 hour care at home safer than a nursing home?
For many people, yes. Infection rates are lower, falls are tracked by one of two aides who know the person, and the person sleeps better in their own bed. For people with aggression, complex medical needs, or a home that cannot be made safe, memory care or skilled nursing may be a better fit. We will tell you honestly which is right.
